On 11 May 2023 the Consortium of the CICEE-T Project met online to share and keep on the project’s activities. The partners discussed the current activities as well as the next steps.
The main goal of CICEE-T Culturally Informed Safe Sport Coach Education e-Toolbox is to develop a specific knowledge on Safe Sport coach education for North Mediterranean area country, cultural barriers to Safe Sport, and coaches’ beliefs for Safe Sport coach education, by developing the first culturally informed digital coaching education toolbox on safe sport.
During the meeting the Partners had the possibility to discuss the results of the research conducted during these months:
- Mapping on SS coach education in partner countries
- Qualitative study exploring cultural characteristics manifested in sport
- Quantitative survey exploring coaches’ needs concerning safeguarding in sport
Partners worked in groups to explore the main concepts and elements that resulted from the research findings, highlighting similarities and differences for each country. The consortium is indeed already working on synthesise new knowledge in facilitators and barriers per country identifying a way to overcome obstacles and organize potential solutions and the critical topics and content identified by the mapping exercise.
The discussion between the Partners was a great occasion to define the task that will close the first work package:” Knowledge development report”.
The consortium is also working on build the Safe Sport Coach Education e-Toolbox (education, evaluation, monitoring for North Mediterranean Partners in native language informed by their cultural characteristics
